Pack 325 Cub Scouts, it's time to hit the trail and enjoy the great outdoors. We will be hosting our fall campout this year at Mt. Madonna County Park campsite just 1 hour away from the Prince of Peace Church. Our adventure will start on Saturday and will end on Sunday at 12 noon. During that time, we will enjoy some light hiking, setting up our camp, cooking in the outdoors, campfire songs, and of course, SMORES!
The following are details crucial for this trip. Please read all the content.
EVENT DETAILS
We are now 41 campers strong, and it’s looking like we’re in for an amazing weekend in the redwoods. Due to mountain weather, morning moisture, and a possible 20% chance of light rain or mist between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, our departure time has been adjusted to give everyone a safer and drier travel window.
If you don’t have a tarp, please come see me—I’ll have a few extras available to share. Also, if anyone has extra tarps at home, please bring them along so we can help other families if needed.
📍 We will now depart from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM, which puts our estimated arrival at camp around 11:00 AM.

WEATHER
🌦️ Mount Madonna Weather Forecast: Saturday is expected to bring cool mountain air with morning clouds and possible moisture before clearing later in the day. The forecasted high is 60°F (15.5°C), with overnight temperatures dropping to 48°F (8.9°C). Keep in mind that camping under the redwoods often feels several degrees cooler due to the shade and moisture in the trees.
Please make sure your family packs an extra layer of clothes, an extra pair of socks for bedtime, a thick jacket, a beanie or warm hat, gloves, hand warmers, and a tarp for under your tent if you have one. Keeping the kids warm and dry will make a huge difference once the sun goes down.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation will be by personal family car. We will initially meet at Prince of Peace Lutheran church on Saturday, May 2nd at 9 AM. See address above. We will try and consolidate as many people into as few cars as possible per Cub Scout safety rules. Ideally, we would bring as few cars as possible. Note, the camp is only about 50 mins away from the church so if needed we can do a couple of trips if we must. Please note, each car will need to pay for county park parking which is $6.00. The following day after we pack up and clean the camp site we will reverse caravan back to Prince of Peace Church by 12 noon.
